As a proud Nicoya with a craving for Nicaraguan food while my mom is in Nicaragua and can’t cook for me…I stopped by this spot!

I had a Bistec Encebollado with rice, beans, plantain, fried cheese and a cabbage salad with a side “chilero”.

The flavor from the Bistec was delicious! I cleaned the plate. It genuinely tasted like a homemade meal.

I would have had a Cacao, but it would have tore me up lol!

This was our first Nicaraguan food! We loved the grilled meats, charred just right, so flavorful. I got the chicken, it was lean ans well seasoned, and beans and rice separate, great black beans! My husband got the steak with a cheesy jalapeño sauce that was really scrumptious, and the gallo pinto, which mixes the rice and beans, very tasty.
Very reasonable prices and nice portions.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since he opened. Monchito, owner, is friendly, and entertaining.
The pace is clean. The service is very friendly. Ch The food is awesome.
It’s tasty, flavorful and delicious. It reminds you of eating in Nicaragua.
My favorite dish is the Chancho adobado, gallo pinto, queso and maduro frito. With a cabbage salad. A fresco de Cacao on the side. No room for dessert. The prices are comparable to cost of living. I have a second choice of restaurant but will not mention it. It’s also good.
Don’t even go to Al Fin. Bad service, food is mediocre. Been there 2X only within 15 years.
I highly recommend Rinconsito Nicaraguanse. My favorite spot.
Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Some of the food we really liked, the plantains and fried cheese were awesome. Parking is a little bit of a hassle but then who drives a car these days? Not in the best part of town but that is the new situation in many parts of San Francisco, unfortunately.

Love this place. Me and the wife decided to walk down mission st deciding what to eat and decided to go back to Riconcito Nica.
This time we got the house special, I call it, Fritanga.
There is so much food that is plenty for 2-3 people.
Plate is loaded with staek, pork, gallopinto, Maduro, queso Frito, and much more, and to top it off, pickled onions 😋.
Definitely a must try
